Ondoy has left the Philippine area of responsibility as quickly as it came...
But I am sure that I am not the only one who feels and sees the lingering effects of the Typhoon's visit.
I am very much saddened with the situation & feel extremely helpless, even if I've already given donations, volunteered my time... I still feel its not enough especially since I have someone very close to me who was very much affected by the calamity.

The only good thing this tragic event has showed the Filipinos and the World, is how big our hearts really are, and how much of a God-loving country we are.
I salute all the people who have pledged their time, their resources in making sure that those affected were given the attention & the help they need.

One rant however...
I truly do not understand why people keep on posting pictures of their volunteer work, do we really need to show people that we're helping?
Isn't the true essence of charity giving without expecting or wanting recognition?
I don't mean to offend anyone, its just that I'm really put off by it.
I'm sure that most of these pictures that are coming out are filled with good intentions, maybe they want to set an example or show the Bayanihan spirit.
Again, good intentions but I think its done in bad taste.

This makes think the celebrities who've been very visible with helping out...
Analyze the difference between Richard Gutierrez / Manny Villar and Gerald Anderson / Raymart Santiago / (and yes, even) Jericho Rosales
Can't tell what it is?
The first 2 personalities helped with the idea of self promotion (Richard with his new movie - he has to be dubbed a hero! that'll be good for the box-office! and Manny Villar for the 2010 campaign) while the rest helped without wanting any attention...
Whatever attention the latter 3 are getting right now are because people are recognizing their acts of heroism & kindness - NOT SELF PROMOTION...
Just my thoughts...

2.)    I was able to see & bond more with my old old friends, made new (hopefully lasting) and meaningful friendships and started cutting off people who are excess baggage. (hahahaha!)

3.)    I went on a dream vacation… EUROPA! (I want to go back!)

4.)    Was able to strike the balance between shopping & saving, now I don’t feel deprived hahahaha!

I was out for a whole week!

Had extremely high fever which was going up & going down - I was bed ridden & knocked out for 7 days.

Felt hot & then had chills, my head throbbed like hell, had chest pains & couldn't breathe properly - Gawd! it's crappy being sick!

Went to makati med ER with my mom to have myself checked for Dengue on the 3rd day of my high fever - CBC turned out good, cleared of Dengue, so what the heck is it then?

The Doc said i had system viral infection & it should go away on its own it the next couple of days, but i still wasn't feeling better.

So my dad brought me to a Chinese Doctor - yup, for traditional chinese medicine. After checking me out he said i almost nearly caught broncho pneumonia and gave me a prescription & medicines to boil & drink. Yuck! Effective but YUCK!

Hopefully all the icky stuff i've downed will make me better already... Sucks to be sick.

On my way home last night I was struck by how lucky I am that I am loving my job & going back to loving what I'm doing.

Since I started with ___ I've been doing lotsa OT's & the last few days even starting my day at 8am or 9am & going home at around 11pm or 12mn BUT I'm loving every single minute of it!

For a time I was saddled by an unexpected turn in my career - I was in a place I did not like nor care for and so i lost my spark, my flame, my passion & my love for what i was doing. I was sad & depressed.

Don't get me wrong, where i was at was a pretty good place to be in and some would even qualify it as a dream company but I guess I'm not just meant for that place... for one reason or another. I met some nice people there but I also met & dealt with a lot of "interesting & irritating" people, it was just different from where I was & where I am now.

I'm just super glad that I'm kinda back to the usual, normal, slightly bitchy but happy me...  nyahahahahahaha!

I was looking at different Food Blogs, it got me hungry & thinking... so here I am listing my current favorite restos.

In no particular order:

1.) Cibo - impeccable service! the food is so simple but is packed with such complex flavors!
2.) Apartment 1B - Comfort food right at the heart of the Makati CBD
3.) Cyma - Champion salads! Their Roka Salata is the bomb! hahahahahaha!
4.) Katre - This relatively hole in the wall resto in the Timog Area a good place to take your date to... They serve Continental cuisine & since its small, its very intimate & you can really talk :)
5.) Cafe Provencal - Their Beef Burgundy is a must try! (I usually opt for Garlic Rice instead of Potatoes as the siding)
6.) Antonio's - this place usually tops other people's lists most of the time & I couldn't agree more :)
7.) Chelsea - Their Sea Bass, Ceasar Salad & Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cheesecake are my must-haves whenever we eat there.
8.) Highlaands Steakhouse - By far the BEST Steak/Lamb Chops I've had! Just real, pure, fresh meat! Carnivores will be sure to enjoy this place.
9.) Pho Hoa - Soup is comfort food & their Pho Bo Kho is a sure fire way to ease & comfort your troubles... Its especially good on a cold, rainy day.
10.) Gerry's/Dencios - Who can sya no to Cripsy Pata, Sisig & Sizzling Pusit????

I love tuning into AI! Last year I rooted for Jordin Sparks and she won! This year,. I have 2 new faves:

David Archuleta

OMG! This Boy is such a cutie and he seems like a perfectly nice & normal boy too!!! If I were a 16 year old girl, I'd probably be crazy crushing on him, hahaha!! But since I'd be classified as a pedophile if I crushed on him now (he's a minor!) I'd go for the "when I have a son, I want my son to be like him" route... hahaha!

Ramiele Malubay

This girl sure has the vocal cords! Who would've thought that a big voice could actually come from such a teeny tiny girl. Plus isn't the fact that she's Pinoy (Pinoy Pride! hahaha!) enough for me to like her? :)

Ooooooohhhhh I hope both get into the FINAL 3 this year! Love, love, love them both (well maybe I love David more than Ramiele, hahahahahaha!!!!!)

I honestly don't know what happened, some of my friends who are into photography said that my lens probably got busted due to over exposure to light & UV.... Hay bad timing!

So now I need to buy a new camera - question is how can I last until May w/o a camera (sabi kasi by May or April that's when Canon will be releasing new models), hassle hassle hassle! Like yesterday, Ron & I were at the UP Fair, there were a lot of super interesting things & people I could've taken pictures of but since sira nga yung camera ko - WALA AKONG NAPICTURE-AN!

Ron was sweet though, he was trying to comfort me saying that my busted camera now shoots like a "Lomo" & I can probably just use that excuse for our "The Ring" like pictures... Kakainis Talaga yung camera!!!

Any recomendations on what Camera I should buy next?

If you are given options what would you do?

Option A allows you to work in Singapore for 3-6 months, take note though that after that period you will still go back to a place of uncertainty and but the same time taking this trip also opens up a door of possibilities, that you might not have a chance to get again.

While...

Option B allows you a chance for a fresh start with new people & a new environment, still no guarantees but at least you have a 50/50 shot at finding what you want & what MIGHT make you happy & fulfilled compared to where you're at right now.

What would you take, where do you go?

I'm grateful for these options but at the same time I'm going nuts thinking what would be the best decision.

I've been having sleepless nights the past few days and to think I've even taken out Option C & Option D out of the picture already.

Gaaaaaaawwwwddddd!!!!

CAPRICON:

The Capricorn horoscope 2008 brings much success and good things for Capricorn people as compared to the year 2008. In addition there would be higher income growths as well as growth opportunities in the year ahead. The year may also bring along some problems, which can be removed only with the positive attitude of Capricorn people. However these problems would remain only for a short period. The Capricorn horoscope 2008 also opens many growth opportunities for people born under this zodiac sign. They can get leadership position in the companies where they are working.
Those Capricorn people who own their business can witness many positive gains as well as chances to grow their business.

The horoscope 2008 calls for expansion of horizons in the professional field. The horoscope 2008 talks of an exciting love relationship for Capricorn people. People who are in a relationship may expect love to grow in their relationships, while those who are planning to grow their family can also expect something positive. Those Capricorn people who are single can be sure to get married or get associated in a relationship.

The horoscope says that the Capricorn people should try to convert their hobbies into work, so that life can become all the more enjoyable for them. The Capricorn people should learn to accept opportunities as they come and work according to it.

CANCER:

Cancer Horoscope, 2008 will offer all cancerians information on health, finance, education and life in the year of 2008. The cancer people are ruled by moon. They are little moody. The crabs as the cancer people are summoned never walks straight. They do not hurt, but cling on to others. They nag and brood until the other person gives up all patience. It is said that the cancer persons take their hearth where ever they move.

Cancer Horoscope, 2008 shows that family will continue to be significant in this phase. There will be small scale troubles in the family circuit but with your high endurance level, this will be sorted out. Family will be there by your side. There will be differences within and without the circle of your family. Things will settle by the second quarter of this year.

Flow of finances will be smooth. There will be little hiccups at the end of the first quarter but things will fall back in their place. The lucky color for the cancer people will be serene white. Their lucky stone is pearl. This gem with elegance will help the cancer people avoid all kinds of mood swings. The lucky number of the cancer people is six.

These cancer persons are too cautious about their children. Your work field will grow slowly and subtly. People might mistake you for your low key involvement in the work place. There will drastic alterations in your work. Things will change and the change will be for good. New and novel opportunities will help you to grow in the professional ambit. There will be harmony in your work place. New ideas will receive the focus light. The year 2008 will be blessing in disguise.

Money matters will be ample in your hands. Take care of your financial pocket. In making investment, be careful. My recommendation to you will be do not trust every one in taking decisions of finances. Things might turn grave for you if decisions are taken in a hurry. Be calm before taking the final plunge.

Health too might be disturbing at little corners of the year. Take proper care of your health and maintain a healthy diet. Have lots of water and fresh organic foods.
